Daft Post (2/4)

Ratatat takes the stage! I didn't fully appreciate the format yet (complete lack of downtime), so the moment Sebastian and Kavinsky left the stage, I thought it an apt time for a preemptive strike on my bladder. Despite have no real line for the restroom, I missed the opening riffs.

Not too big of a deal, mind you. Their performance was great. Loud, ponderous rock. Heavy, bass-y beats, a slow tempo, and retro video effects (60s-70s feel) onstage. Some songs definitely carry better live than recorded. Wildcat, for example, was awesome at the show, and comes off rather boring listening to it recorded.

AG recommended their self-titled album in the comments thread for Z's review of the concert, and I've already given it one pass -- slower than my usual fair, but good nonetheless, and worth having a taste.
