Bedlam is dreaming of rain

There's a big fire in Griffith Park. According to the LA Times, they're starting to get a decent handle on it -- thank goodness.

I didn't see anything on the news (me? watch news?), and was awestruck when I first saw the plume of smoke. Right at sunset it looked much worse than it really was, with the back lighting falsely giving the impression of black smoke. Later in the night, you could see that the smoke was almost white, which typically means little (if anything) man-made was burning.
