It's funny, but after the beginning I would have gone in a different direction.

I would have had the guy not mention the girl after the first panel, spend all the remaining panels except for the last describing the apocalypse, and then in the last panel have the other guy say, "So, was she hot?"

Granted, the message would have been different, but that's where I would have taken this.
