Most of the people who read this blog already know that the album Give Up by The Postal Service is a great album (not that you learned it here).
Well, I just learned where they got their name. The "band" is actually a collaboration between two artists, Jimmy Tamborello and Ben Gibbard, which I already knew. What I didn't know is that they usually weren't in the same place, and they'd mail incremental revisions of their work back and forth, each of them adding bits here and there until it was finished. Hence, the name of the band, "The Postal Service".
That's neat.
