Magnitude 4.2, about 50 miles NE of here. Woke me up last night. "Hrm," I thought, "probably a 4-something."
I'm still wondering how I manage to guess the magnitude of quakes with pretty good accuracy (usually within +/- 0.2), despite the huge dependence of perception on distance from the epicenter. Log-scale certainly helps...
